The Quantico Rod & Gun Club supports the Virginia Department of
Game and Inland Fisheries by providing facilities free of charge for conducting
Hunter Education classes. Many of the class instructors, all certified by
VDGIF, are also Rod and Gun Club members. In addition, Hunter Education
classes are also taught at other locations on base.
Potential students are advised to watch this short
video before registering
for class.
Hunting aboard MCB Quantico requires adherence to Marine Corps
orders and bulletins. The hunting program is managed by the
Fish, Wildlife, and Agronomy Section of the Natural Environmental Affairs
Branch. Check out their web pages for more details. The Hunter
Education classes described on this page are required for all new hunters in
Virginia and successful completion will result in the issuance of the
certificate of completion necessary to get a hunting license in Virginia.
Additional safety lectures are required for hunters new to MCB Quantico.

Hunter Education Class Schedule for MCB

Hunter Education Classes offered aboard MCB Quantico are 12 hour
classes generally scheduled for a full day on Saturday plus 1/2 a day on the
following Sunday.
NOTE: If the class you want to attend
is FULL, please check back later. Cancellations immediately show up as
available seats and registration will reopen. |

Do NOT bring firearms or ammunition to class! The class size is limited. A seat must be reserved if you plan to attend whether or not you need the class. Parents/Adult caretakers are encouraged to attend with children under 16 and to participate in the class. Once we reach the limit of registrants, the class will be closed. Please check the web site often because cancellations are reflected immediately as available seats. Walk-ins are taken on a space-available basis the day of the class but they are not guaranteed entry. Bring a Lunch. There is no place within driving distance of the club where you can get food during the lunch break. Drinks will be available for purchase. Outdoor exercises included; dress for field and classroom. |
