Organization

The Quantico Rod and Gun Club is designated and shall operate as a Private Organization in accordance with Marine Corps Order 5760.4B and such directives and instructions as may be issued by the Commanding General.

 

Officers

The Executive Board consists of the elected officers of the club and the Standing Committee Chairpersons as Ex-Officio.  The elected officers of the club include the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Purchasing Officer.  

Officers are elected by a simple majority of the members present at the May meeting from a slate of nominees proposed by a three person nominating committee.  Nominations may also be made from the floor during the May meeting.  Vacancies may be filled by elections held at any regular meeting.

Officers are installed at the June meeting and take office at the July meeting.  Officers may be elected to succeed himself or herself in office without term limit with the exception of the President and Vice-President.  The President and Vice President are limited to two consecutive terms.

Any regular member is eligible for election to any office.

Membership

Individuals seeking membership in the club must complete the required documentation and present qualifying identification.  The Quantico Rod and Gun Club does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, national origin, or sex.

The club has two categories of membership, Regular and Junior.  Regular Memberships are divided into four classes:

  1. Active Duty Personnel and their dependents.
  2. Military personnel retired with pay and their dependents.
  3. DOD civilians employed and retired.
  4. Civilian personnel which are limited to not more than one-third of the total membership.

Youths under 16 years of age whose parents are regular members of the club, or whose parents, while not club members would otherwise be eligible for membership, are eligible for junior membership.  This membership is restricted to a junior division of the club.  Junior members must be sponsored by a current member in good standing, parent or otherwise.  Those sponsored by other than their parents must provide written parental permission and a signed liability waiver to be eligible for membership.

All regular members are entitled to all rights and privileges of the club, except that junior members may not hold elected office or vote.
